He was appointed as a NHS consultant at Lanarkshire in 2007. He is also practicing privately at Ross Hall Hospital and Nuffield Hospital in Glasgow.

The medical journey started when Mr. Ayoub graduated in Medicine with the M.B, Ch.B Degree. During his final stages in medical school, it became obvious to him that he wanted to be a surgeon.

After his successful completion of his Internship experience, he commenced the surgical training path straightaway. He started his Basic Surgical Training (BST) in the West Yorkshire, England in 1992. This was a surgical SHO Rotation Programme where he worked in various surgical specialities (Emergency, Urology, Orthopaedics, General Surgery, and Vascular Surgery). He gained the necessary skills and experience to become a Surgeon, and that was culminated by awarding the Fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons “FRCS” in 1996.

Academics and Research
Mr. Ayoub has an interest in the field of research and academic orthopaedics. He undertook a Research Registrar post at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in Birmingham. At the end of this programme, he was successful in passing the Intercollegiate Examination of the four Royal Colleges of Surgeons and he was awarded the FRCS (Orth) title in 2004.
